Fulleda is a village in the comarca of Les Garrigues, Lleida, with a population that rarely exceeded a few hundred even at its peak. That a municipality this small issued its own emergency paper money is not unusual for Catalonia in 1936–37 — hundreds of towns did the same when the Republic's coin supply collapsed at the outbreak of the Civil War — but it does mean surviving examples are scarce simply because so few were ever printed or circulated.
Turró's catalog documents the full range of these Catalan municipal emissions; #1073 places Fulleda among the smaller, less-documented issuers for whom production runs and exact issue dates remain unconfirmed.
