Flaçà is a small municipality in the Baix Empordà comarca of Girona, and like hundreds of Catalan towns during the Civil War, it issued its own emergency fractional currency in 1937 after the collapse of small-change supply. The Republican government's inability to maintain coin circulation drove municipalities down to the village level to fill the gap with locally printed paper.
Turró catalogues this as #1015 — the Turró reference system remains the definitive tool for Spanish Civil War municipal issues, and a note without it is effectively uncatalogued in the specialist market.
