Chueca was one of hundreds of Spanish municipalities that issued emergency fractional notes during 1936–1937, when the Republic's metallic coinage vanished almost entirely from circulation — hoarded, melted, or simply lost in the chaos of the early Civil War months. The Consejo Municipal series from these small Aragonese and Castilian towns was produced locally, often on whatever paper and printing equipment was at hand, with quality varying wildly from one village to the next.
The Gari Mon reference is unassigned, suggesting this piece either remains unlisted or was recorded after the standard catalog was compiled.
