Obverse description The obverse features a centrally placed ship's anchor overlapping a large steering wheel (helm), with a coiled rope draped around both elements, rendered in a bold, stylized manner. A central round hole pierces the design. The legend ESPAÑA arcs along the upper left periphery, with the date 1949 inscribed to the left, flanked by two small six-pointed stars on the rim indicating the mint assay marks. The overall composition is characteristic of the Francoist-era Spanish coinage aesthetic, with strong, simplified relief.
