Almodóvar del Campo is a small municipality in Ciudad Real province, and like dozens of similar towns across Republican Spain during the Civil War, it issued its own emergency fractional currency when the shortage of small coinage became acute after 1936. These local vales were produced by worker collectives — here jointly under the UGT and CNT umbrella — and were valid only within the issuing community, functioning essentially as internal scrip rather than currency in any broader sense.
The Gari Mon reference is unassigned, suggesting this piece either remains unregistered or was catalogued after the standard edition went to press. Documentation for CNT-UGT joint issues from Castilla-La Mancha is notoriously incomplete.
