Obverse description The Venezuelan national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield with a sheaf of wheat and a crossed sword and lance in the upper quarters, and a galloping white horse facing left in the lower quarter. The shield is flanked by sprigs of laurel and palm. The curved legend REPUBLICA DE VENEZUELA arcs around the upper periphery within a beaded border. Along the lower periphery, separated by raised dots, appear the denomination 50 CENTIMOS, the date 1960, and the silver fineness GR. 2.5 LEI. 835.
