| Obverse description | Central field features a large pentagram (five-pointed star), the seal of Solomon, rendered in intricate relief against an elaborate background of arabesque and foliate scrollwork in the Moorish decorative tradition. A stylized rosette occupies the center of the star. The Latin legend EMPIRE CHERIFIEN arcs along the upper periphery within a raised border, while an Arabic inscription occupies the lower arc.
