| Obverse description | Central field displays the Seal of Solomon (five-pointed star, or pentagram) rendered in bold relief and richly decorated with intricate arabesque scrollwork and foliate motifs filling the interstices between the star's points. A stylised rosette occupies the centre of the star. The legend EMPIRE CHERIFIEN arcs along the upper periphery in Latin characters, while an Arabic inscription appears along the lower arc within a decorative cartouche. The whole design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, set against the dodecagonal flan with a raised rim. |
