| Obverse description | Blue and ochre letterpress note with an elaborate guilloche border of interlaced floral and geometric motifs surrounding a central cream-coloured panel. The denomination "50 CENTIMES" appears in large red letterpress type within a decorative cartouche at centre, above which "RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE" and "VILLE DE STRASBOURG" are printed in blue. A repeating blue underprint of the text "VILLE DE STRASBOURG" fills the panel, flanked on each side by floral vignettes, while the city arms appear at the foot of the central panel; signature lines for the President of the Municipal Commission and the Municipal Receiver are printed below the denomination cartouche, accompanied by a handwritten serial number. |
