| Obverse description | Central field features an elaborate decorative panel of stylized Arabic calligraphy rendered in a geometric, architectural style reminiscent of traditional Islamic tilework and manuscript illumination. The inscription commemorates the 30th anniversary of the 8 May 1945 Sétif Massacre, with the Arabic legend arranged in two horizontal registers separated by ornamental dividers. The date 1945 appears in Western-Arabic numerals at the lower left, while the corresponding Arabic word 'ماي' (May) appears to its right, flanked by geometric floral motifs. The overall composition is framed within the coin's raised border, emphasizing the solemn commemorative character of the design. |

| Reverse description | Large numeral '50' dominates the central field within a raised inner circle, below which the denomination in Arabic words 'خمسون سنتيما' (fifty centimes) is inscribed along the lower arc. Surrounding the inner circle, a broad border carries the full state title 'الجمهورية الجزائرية الديمقراطية الشعبية' (People's Democratic Republic of Algeria) in flowing Arabic script, reading around the upper and lateral periphery. The year 1395 in the Islamic calendar and 1975 in the Gregorian calendar appear at the lower portion of the border, separated by a small floral ornament. The overall design is clean and typographic, with no pictorial motifs beyond the decorative script border. |
