| Reverse description | The large denomination numeral 50 dominates the central field in bold relief, with a superscript 'c' to its right denoting centimes. A continuous dotted inner border frames the central device. The legend CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE arcs along the upper portion between the dotted border and the coin's edge, while RUFISQUE appears in the lower arc, flanked by two raised dots serving as punctuation stops. The reverse exhibits a plain, uncluttered design typical of utilitarian emergency currency of the period. |

Rufisque, once the dominant commercial port of French West Africa and the hub of the groundnut trade, had largely lost that status to Dakar by 1920 — yet its Chamber of Commerce still found it necessary to issue emergency aluminium tokens that year, a sign of how persistently coin shortages plagued the region even after WWI monetary disruptions had nominally resolved elsewhere. These chambres de commerce issues filled a gap the colonial administration in Dakar refused to address at the fractional level.
