Reverse description A genuine New Caledonia 50 centimes postage stamp printed in red-orange on a red-orange background is encapsulated within the round aluminium disc, visible through the open centre. The stamp depicts a coastal landscape vignette with decorative foliate scrollwork framing the design. The denomination 50 and the word POSTES appear at the upper portion of the stamp, while the inscriptions NOUVELLE CALÉDONIE and ET DÉPENDANCES are inscribed across the lower field. The perforated edges of the stamp are visible around the periphery, set against the red-orange background.
