French chambers of commerce were authorised to issue small-denomination emergency notes from 1914 onward as the war drained metallic coin from circulation almost immediately. Dijon's chamber was among the more prolific regional issuers, and the Gérin imprint appears across multiple denominations in the series — a local printer given a decidedly local contract.
The JP#53-10 through 13 range covers four distinct date variants of this single type, all sharing the same plate. Collectors frequently underestimate how much date-variant differentiation matters for completeness here.
