| Obverse description | Brown letterpress frame with ornate Art Nouveau corner flourishes and arched guilloche underprint in blue, bearing the issuer's name in a cartouche at the top centre. The large numeral '50' in black letterpress occupies the centre of the note, above the denomination legend 'CENTIMES', flanked by two manuscript signatures. At the lower centre, a green circular seal of the Chambre de Commerce de Besançon is applied, with the series number and serial number printed to either side at bottom left and right respectively. |
