Obverse description The obverse is printed in dark brown on cream paper within a fine guilloche border. The issuer's name "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE BAYONNE" is set in large capital letters at the top, below which the authorizing deliberation date appears. Two symmetrical ornamental cartouches at left and right each enclose the value "50c", surmounted by a caduceus-style device with spread wings. The central field carries the large denomination "50 CENTIMES" with signature lines for the Treasurer and President below, and a note at foot stating exchangeability against Banque de France notes, flanked by the series designation and serial number.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in dark brown on cream paper within the same guilloche framework as the obverse. The heading "DÉPARTEMENT DES BASSES-PYRÉNÉES" arches across the top in bold lettering. At centre, an octagonal vignette issued by the Chambre de Commerce de Bayonne displays a three-masted sailing vessel at sea with the motto "VIGENT FIDE". Flanking the central vignette are two crowned municipal coats of arms on scrolled ribbons bearing the Latin mottoes "NUNQUAM POLLUTA" (left) and "URBIS PALLADIUM ET GENTIS" (right), each accompanied by foliate branches. At the foot, the redemption clause states the note must be presented for reimbursement before 1 June 1923.
