| Obverse description | Bare-headed effigy of King Albert I facing left, rendered in high relief with finely detailed curly hair. The king's unadorned portrait conveys a neoclassical aesthetic characteristic of Godefroid Devreese's medallic style. The engraver's signature G. DEVREESE appears incuse along the lower rim. The circular legend reads ALBERT ROI DES BELGES, divided into two arcs flanking the portrait. The field is smooth and unadorned, with the truncation of the neck falling just above the lower border. |
