Obverse description Left-facing effigy of King Albert I, rendered in high relief with fine portrait detail characteristic of Devreese's medallic style. The king is depicted bare-headed, with a strong facial profile typical of early twentieth-century Belgian coinage. A circular legend in Dutch frames the portrait, reading 'ALBERT KONING DER BELGEN' (Albert, King of the Belgians). The engraver's signature 'G.DEVREESE.' appears in small capitals below the truncation of the bust.
