| Additional information |
Haiti's copper-nickel coinage of this period was struck at the Paris Mint under contract, a practical necessity given that Haiti had no domestic minting capability. The 1907–1908 issues fall within the presidency of Nord Alexis, an octogenarian general who came to power in 1902 and was eventually forced into exile in 1908 — the same year these coins were entering circulation.
