Reverse description A standing eagle displayed in profile with wings raised, rendered in the Fascist heraldic style, gripping a fasces with an axe in its talons. To the left of the eagle, near the tail, the year of issue appears in both the Common Era and the Fascist Era numerals (e.g., 1941 XIX). In the exergue below the fasces, the Savoy shield is centrally placed, flanked on either side by the denomination C. 50 and the Rome Mint mark R. The word ITALIA appears prominently in the upper field. The design was engraved by Pietro Giampaoli.
