Obverse description The obverse bears a crude, boldly incised legend arranged in a circular arc around the field, reading NAPOLEONE IMPE E RE with a Cyrillic-style reversed N, reflecting the rudimentary engraving tools available under siege conditions. At the center of the field, the denomination CENT. 50 is inscribed in two lines, with the numeral 50 rendered in a large, emphatic format. The lettering is irregular in depth and spacing, characteristic of emergency coinage produced without the refinements of a regular mint. The field is unadorned and slightly uneven, consistent with improvised die preparation. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded or dotted border.
