| Obverse description | The Mexican national arms occupy the central field: a Mexican golden eagle displayed, wings slightly raised and chest exposed, perched upon a prickly pear cactus rooted on a rocky islet rising from a lake, grasping a serpent in its beak and talons. An ornamental wreath of oak and laurel branches, tied with a ribbon, frames the base of the device. The circular legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS arcs across the upper half of the coin in Latin characters. |
