| Obverse description | The Mexican national arms occupies the central field, depicting a Mexican eagle displayed facing left, perched atop a prickly pear cactus growing from a rock emerging from water, clutching a serpent in its beak with wings spread. The device is flanked at the base by an oak branch to the left and a laurel branch to the right. The legend REPUBLICA MEXICANA arcs around the upper periphery in raised Latin characters, and the whole design is enclosed within a dentilated border. |
