Obverse description Black and green on multicolour underprint. A vignette of Christopher Columbus appears at right, framed within fine guilloche work. Three manuscript signatures appear across the lower portion of the face, with order numbers printed in red.

Reverse description Printed in dark green. The Nicaraguan Coat of Arms — an equilateral triangle enclosing a landscape of volcanoes and a rising sun over water — occupies the centre, flanked symmetrically on either side by bold numeral 50 counters set within elaborate guilloche rosettes, with the denomination text CINCUENTA CENTAVOS arching around each counter. Issuer and country legends arc along the upper and lower borders respectively.
