| Reverse description | A standing allegorical figure of Liberty dominates the field, draped in classical robes and holding aloft a flag bearing five stars and the word UNION in her raised right hand, while her left arm rests upon a column surmounted by an open book representing the Constitution. Two tridents flank the figure at the sides, with the mint initials P and A positioned at left and right respectively. The circular legend at the top reads 15 DE SETIEMBRE DE 1821, commemorating Honduran independence, while the lower legend reads CONSTITUCION and PAZ, PROGRESO Y LIBERTAD. The inscription CENTRO AMERICA appears at the bottom of the field, and the date 27 DE AGOSTO DE 1876 is inscribed in the lower legend. |
