Obverse description Cast brass coin with a central square perforation, bearing four large Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) arranged in a cruciform reading pattern: top to bottom and right to left around the central hole. The characters 咸豐重寶 (Xianfeng Zhongbao) are boldly rendered in the field, each occupying one quadrant. The legends are deeply incised with strong, well-defined strokes against a flat, unadorned field, typical of Qing dynasty cast coinage.
