Obverse description Printed in violet, orange, and black, the obverse centers on a vignette of the Palacio de las Academias, with a portrait of Andrés Bello at right and the watermark zone occupying the left margin. The upper portion carries the issuer title BANCO CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA, the city name CARACAS, the denomination in words CINCUENTA BOLÍVARES, and the payment clause PAGADEROS AL PORTADOR EN LAS OFICINAS DEL BANCO; numeral 50 appears in the upper corners and lower left corner. A black security guilloche underprint at the base frames two further numeral denomination counters.

Reverse description Printed predominantly in orange, the reverse carries a central guilloche vignette bearing the inscription BANCO CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA, with the Venezuelan Coat of Arms at left and the watermark zone at right. The denomination CINCUENTA BOLÍVARES appears at the base, while numeral counters 50 occupy each corner of the note.
