G&D's Leipzig facility has printed Ethiopian currency through multiple political transitions — from the Derg's collapse in 1991 through the EPRDF years — making this a notably stable printing relationship for a country that overhauled its notes repeatedly in the 1990s. The P#51 series ran for over a decade with only minor security upgrades introduced mid-run, which is why earlier and later printings within the 2003–2015 span can show measurable differences in the OVI application on the denomination numeral.
