Obverse description The central field features a chardak, a traditional wooden Balkan house rendered in fine relief. Below the central motif appears the historic Croatian checkerboard coat of arms, flanked by the date 1941. The abbreviated legend NEZ · DRŽ (for NEZAVISNA DRŽAVA, meaning Independent State) is inscribed along the left rim, while HRVATSKA arcs along the right rim, together forming the full national designation of the Independent State of Croatia.
