| Obverse description | The obverse features a detailed engraving of Corvin Castle (Castelul Corvinilor) in Hunedoara, depicted in the lower half of the field with its characteristic Gothic towers and fortified walls rendered in fine relief. Radiating lines emanate from behind the castle, filling the upper field in a sunburst pattern. The country name ROMANIA arcs along the upper legend, with the denomination 50 BANI inscribed prominently in the central field. The Romanian state coat of arms — a golden eagle displayed bearing a shield with the traditional quartered arms — appears to the upper right, and the date 2016 is placed in the lower exergue. |
