| Obverse description | The obverse features the Portuguese Republican coat of arms prominently displayed in the center of the field, depicting the traditional shield charged with five escutcheons in cross formation, each bearing five bezants, surrounded by a bordure of seven castles, all set against a vertically lined background. The legend REPUBLICA PORTUGUESA arcs along the upper periphery, with the territorial designation MACAU along the right side, both separated by small five-pointed stars. The date of issue appears in the lower exergual area beneath the arms. The design is executed in a bold, high-relief style characteristic of Portuguese colonial coinage of the period. |
