| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Rwanda is prominently displayed at centre, featuring the shield with traditional motifs flanked by a knot at the base, a sun at the top, and vegetation on either side. The arms are enclosed within a circular inner border, with the legend BANKI NKURU Y'U RWANDA arcing along the upper field and REPUBLIKA Y'U RWANDA appearing on a scroll across the top of the shield.
