| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in blue-green and grey tones, with two central vignettes side by side: a steam locomotive at left and a cargo steamship at right, separated by the large Chinese denomination 伍萬圓 in an oval guilloche underprint. The bank name 東北銀行 appears in a horizontal band across the top centre, flanked by the numeral 50000 in each lower corner. Vertical Chinese inscriptions 流通券 and 地方 appear along the left and right margins respectively, and two red seal stamps are affixed in the lower central area. |
