Obverse description	Forward-facing bust of Sheikh Abeid Amani Karume rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished proof field. The effigy occupies the central portion of the coin, depicting the subject with characteristic close-cropped hair and a small goatee, dressed in a collared jacket. A circular legend in Latin script surrounds the portrait along the rim, identifying the subject by his full title and name.
