| Obverse description | The upper portion of the note is dominated by a bold dark red rectangular vignette in an Expressionist style, showing a profile bust of a helmeted female allegorical figure — likely Germania or an industrial allegory — set against a stylised landscape of undulating lines with factory chimneys rising to the right. The denomination «Fünfzigtausend Mark» is rendered in large Gothic (Fraktur) letterpress across the top of the vignette, above the words «Gutschein über». The lower register carries the issuing text, date «M. Gladbach / 3. Juli 1923», two manuscript signatures, an embossed dry seal of the Handelskammer M. Gladbach at lower left, and a serial number with letter suffix at lower right above the numeral «50000» in a shaded panel. |
