| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a large, finely engraved depiction of a multi-masted sailing warship under full sail, rendered in high relief with detailed rigging and pennants flying from the masts. To the lower left stands a full-length figure of Peter the Great, depicted in period military attire with one arm outstretched, mounted on a pedestal with an anchor at its base. In the upper left, a vignette of a Laotian temple or stupa is engraved within a cartouche, accompanied by the curved legend BANK OF THE LAO PDR. The date 2017 appears at the top of the field, and the denomination 50000 KIP is inscribed along the lower rim. Metallic specifications Ag 925 31.1 and the Moscow Mint mark MMD appear vertically along the left edge of the field. |
