Obverse description The obverse features a detailed relief depiction of Pha That Luang, the iconic gilded Buddhist stupa and national symbol of Laos, rendered in a prooflike finish against a mirrored black field. The monument is shown in full frontal elevation with its surrounding ceremonial wall and gateway arch. The curved legend 'BANK OF THE LAO PDR' arcs across the upper field in bold Latin lettering. The silver fineness mark 'Ag 925' appears vertically on the left, while the Moscow Mint monogram (ММД) is positioned to the right of the central motif. The denomination '50000 Kip' and the date '2023', flanked by two raised dots, are inscribed along the lower rim.

Reverse description The fully colored reverse presents a vibrant winter scene in the tradition of Russian folk painting. In the foreground, three children dressed in traditional Russian winter attire are depicted playing hockey on a frozen surface, while a fourth child in the left background builds a snowman. A snow-covered rural village with a characteristic Orthodox church steeple and illuminated cottage windows recedes into the middle ground, framed by frost-laden birch trees. At the top center, a round clock face ornamented with a snowflake motif in place of hands serves as a decorative focal point against a dark, cloud-filled sky. The legend 'Russian Winter' is inscribed in stylized cursive script along the lower portion of the field.
