| Obverse description | Central depiction of Pha That Luang (the Great Stupa of Vientiane), rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished black field, showing the principal tower and surrounding smaller spires above an arched gateway with flanking walls. The legend BANK OF THE LAO PDR curves along the upper periphery in bold Latin characters. The fineness mark Ag 925 appears in the left field, and the Moscow Mint monogram (ММД) is visible in the right field.
