| Reverse description | The reverse displays a powerful ultra-high-relief depiction of a Mesoamerican warrior deity — evoking Quetzalcoatl in his guise as a warrior — shown in a dynamic, striding pose against a background of coiling serpent scales and Aztec architectural motifs. The figure wears an elaborate feathered headdress, traditional warrior regalia including a pectoral ornament, and carries a decorated macuahuitl (obsidian-edged war club) in one hand and a circular sun-shield bearing a central solar face in the other. Flanking the figure are large iridescent green quetzal feather plumes that extend beyond the coin's edge in sculptural relief, while a stepped pyramid structure is visible in the upper right field. The entire design is rendered in an antique silver finish with vivid green colorization applied to the feathers and border elements, achieving a dramatic three-dimensional effect. |
