Reverse description The reverse presents a left-facing profile effigy of Saint Margaret of Hungary (1242–1270), executed after the celebrated fresco attributed to Simone Martini in the Basilica of San Francesco d'Assisi, Italy. The saint is depicted wearing a Dominican habit, her features rendered with fine artistic sensitivity in keeping with the medieval pictorial source. The inscription SZENT MARGIT appears in the upper field, with the dates 1242–1270 below, framing the portrait within the coin's field.
