| Obverse description | Notgeld issued on plain cream paper with a green diamond-pattern guilloche underprint covering the right portion of the note. At left, a light green shield-shaped arms vignette bears the numeral '50' and the word 'Million' in large purple letterpress, with an ornamental cartouche below. The centre carries the title legend in Gothic blackletter script, the large denomination '50 Millionen Mark' in bold purple type, and a clause stating acceptance at the Kreiskasse and recall after 1 January 1924, together with an anti-counterfeiting warning; issue date 'Bingen a. Rh., den 17. Sept. 1923' appears at lower left, with the issuing authority 'Kreisamt Bingen / Schön.' at lower right. A circular pink control stamp of the Kreisamt Bingen is applied over the right side of the note. |
