| Obverse description | Typographically composed notgeld note printed on plain paper with a diamond-pattern guilloche underprint in ochre-brown tones, bearing a large watermark-style numeral '5' in the centre field. The issuing authority 'KREISHAUPTSTADT SPEYER a/RH.' is set in roman capitals at the head, with 'NOTGELD' below in bold letterpress; the denomination 'Fünfzig Milliarden Mark' is rendered in a bold Gothic blackletter typeface.
