Obverse description The obverse features the Imperial Russian double-headed eagle displayed at center, each head surmounted by a separate crown and the whole crowned by a single large imperial crown above. The eagle bears on its breast a shield with the arms of Moscow, and holds a scepter and orb in its talons. The wings display additional armorial shields of the Russian Empire. A Cyrillic circular legend surrounding the design reads the silver fineness and weight specification, with the mint mark MW (Warsaw Mint) appearing in the lower field beneath the eagle's tail. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border.
