| Reverse description | Right-facing bust portrait of Józef Piłsudski, Marshal of Poland, rendered in high relief with sharp, naturalistic detail capturing his characteristic heavy-set features and military collar. The word PRÓBA (meaning 'trial' or 'pattern') appears in the right field, confirming the piece's status as a trial strike. The date 1934 is incised in small characters in the lower right field near the truncation. The field is otherwise smooth and mirror-like, consistent with proof-quality striking. |

| Additional information |
The 1934 Piłsudski coinage program was a deliberate political exercise — the aging Marshal, who had seized power through the May Coup of 1926, was being enshrined in national iconography while still alive. Trial strikes like this one were produced by Mennica Państwowa to test dies and finalize compositional choices before committing to full production runs. The "Shooter eagle" reverse distinguishes this variety from the standard issue, associating Piłsudski directly with the riflemen's legions he had commanded during the push for independence.
Very few trial pieces from this program survived outside institutional collections.
