Obverse description Cast bronze cash coin centered on a square central perforation framed by a raised square rim. To the left of the central hole, the character 銖 (Zhu) is cast in archaic clerical script in relief; to the right, the character 五 (Wu, meaning five) appears in the same script, together reading Wu Zhu (Five Zhu) in the conventional right-to-left orientation. The characters are rendered in the distinctive heavy-stroke style characteristic of the Wen Heavy type, with bold, deeply defined strokes. A raised inner rim borders the square hole on all sides, and a broader raised outer rim encircles the coin's periphery, leaving a flat, largely undecorated field between them. The surface displays an aged patina of brown and verdigris, consistent with prolonged burial.
