Reverse description At the centre of the mirror-like proof field stands a boldly rendered mythological winged creature modelled after a 4th-century BC Chinese bronze artefact, depicted in a rearing posture with its body richly ornamented with traditional taotie and spiral scroll motifs characteristic of Eastern Zhou bronze casting. The creature, combining leonine and avian features, is shown with prominent wings, elongated taloned legs, and an open-jawed head turned slightly upward, faithfully reproducing the sculptural style of ancient Chinese ritual bronzes. A legend arching along the upper rim reads the date of origin of the depicted artefact in Chinese characters, while the denomination appears in Chinese characters at the base of the field. The composition is framed by a continuous beaded border.
