Reverse description The reverse depicts a richly detailed scene evoking the ancient Silk Road, centered on a large rock-cut niche containing a standing Buddha figure in high relief, robed in flowing drapery with right hand raised in abhaya mudra; smaller votive niches with subsidiary figures are carved into the surrounding rockface. To the left, a procession of two Bactrian camels laden with goods accompanies two human figures, set against a stylized landscape of rolling mountains and cloud-like water formations. The inscription 圆佛礼 (Worshipping the Buddha) appears in three Chinese characters arcing along the upper field, while the denomination 5元 is displayed in the lower central exergue area.
