| Additional information |
This coin belongs to a long-running Chinese series celebrating Han dynasty tomb figurines, the painted ceramic sculptures excavated primarily from Sichuan burial sites dating to roughly the first through third centuries AD. The "storyteller" figures — musicians and narrators depicted mid-performance, often with exaggerated expressions — were among the most distinctive funerary objects of the Eastern Han period, intended to provide entertainment for the deceased in the afterlife. The originals now held in the Sichuan Museum remain touchstones for Chinese ceramic scholarship.
