Obverse description Central field bears the national emblem of the People's Republic of China, depicting Tiananmen Gate surmounted by five stars and encircled by a wreath of grain stalks bound at the base with a cogwheel, rendered in high relief. A stylized landscape panorama of mountainous terrain occupies the lower portion of the field beneath the emblem. The legend 中华人民共和国 (People's Republic of China) arcs along the upper perimeter in simplified Chinese characters, with the date 2022 inscribed along the lower border.

Reverse description The reverse features a detailed scenic depiction of the Leshan Giant Buddha, the colossal Tang Dynasty stone carving, shown seated and carved into the cliff face at left-center, with the surrounding rocky escarpment and forested slopes of Mount Emei extending across the field. Temple structures and traditional pavilions are visible on the clifftop in the upper portion, while small boats navigate the river waters at the base of the statue, conveying the monumental scale of the site. The denomination 5元 appears in the lower right field. The inscription 世界文化和自然遗产—峨眉山—乐山大佛 (UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage — Mount Emei — Leshan Giant Buddha) is engraved along the lower margin in two lines.
