Reverse description The reverse features a bold close-up depiction of the serene face and upper torso of the colossal Vairocana Buddha from the Fengxian Temple cave at the Longmen Grottoes, occupying the left portion of the field in high relief, with finely incised curled hair and elongated earlobes characteristic of Tang dynasty Buddhist sculpture. To the right, a recessed panel depicts a panoramic view of additional rock-cut cave niches containing standing Buddhist figures, evoking the UNESCO World Heritage site.
