| Obverse description | Green-tinted note with a central oval vignette at left portraying a landscaped view of a temple or official building set among trees, rendered in fine intaglio line work. The denomination 伍圓 (Five Yuan) appears in large Chinese characters at centre, flanked by elaborate guilloche rosettes in blue and green underprint.
